Itaccounts for67% (for oil),and91% (for natural gas) of the total national production volume. Thereservesaremainlylocatedinnorthernautonomous districts.However, southern areas carryup to 2.5 billion tons of hydrocarbons, as well. Crudeoilproductionhasgrown several-foldover the past few years. TheTyumenRegionhas reachedits highest levels, averaging10 million tons per year. The head of the region has set the task to double these figures.
Animportantpartofthenewstageofdevelopment encompassesbuildingdeep conversion refineriesto producepetroleum products and petrochemicals. Antipinsky Oil Refinery, Tobolsk Petrochemical Plant, and other plants successfully work. . Construction of a huge Tobolsk-Polymer Plant has begun.It is planned to reach a production capacity of 1.5 million tons annually.

In 2015,it brought together 157participants from different cities of Russia, as well as exhibitors from Belarus, Romania, China, and Ukraine. Theexhibitionwasattendedby5,048 people.Those included experts from 50 cities of Russia, as well as delegations from Finland and China.
